Bruno Dubois
Bruno Dubois Winery is a family-owned and operated winery located in the heart of Burgundy, France. Bruno Dubois, who oversees every aspect of the winemaking process, firmly believes in respecting the natural environment and preserving the integrity of the grapes. The winery's vineyards are situated in some of the most coveted terroirs of Burgundy, including the Côte de Beaune, the Côte de Nuits, and the Côte Chalonnaise, renowned for producing some of the finest wines in the world. Dubois currently farms 3.5 hectares of vineyard ranging from 45 to 65 years old, inter-planted with native brush and trees, and nurtured with birdhouses, bat shelters, and beehives. The vineyards are 100% organic and Demeter biodynamic certified. Before starting his winery in Saumur-Champigny in 2002, Dubois worked in the cellar and vineyards of the late Marcel Lapierre in Villié-Morgon, where he learned the importance of stewardship of the land and non-interventionist winemaking. Dubois' philosophy in the cellar is to produce wines with as little human interference as possible, using native fermentation, no pumping, light extraction, and no added sulfites (except for the white). Along with icons like Thierry Germain and Nadi Foucault, Dubois is paving the way for organics and purity in this often-overlooked AOC.
