Marilena Barbera, a third-generation winemaker from Sicily, returned to her homeland after practicing Interantional law. As a woman, she was determined to put Menfi on the map and fulfill her father's dream. Her goal was to be a guardian of this incredible terroir, vines living so close to the ocean turn the sea brine into vibrant salinity. The farming is biodynamic and the winemaking in non-interventionist using spontaneous fermentation and no new oak. She makes five indigenous varietals, from five different soil types.

  • Sustainable Practices: Recyclable materials, reduced bottles’ weight, 100% certified renewable energy, responsible management of natural resources. All the winery processes respect the international standards ISO 9001 (quality), 14001 (environmental management) and 10939 (traceability).
  • Biodynamic Certificates: Not yet. We will get our certification in 2023, from AgriBio Dinamica.
