California, United States

In 1868, the Mauritson family's great-great-great-grandfather planted the first vines in the area that would become the Rockpile appellation in Dry Creek Valley. Clay Mauritson was determined to expand the family firm into the wine industry, so in 1998 he released the first vintage under the Mauritson wines label. The family still oversees a sizable portion of Sonoma County's vineyards today. They use only hand-picked vineyards that truly express their unique locations to create their boutique wines.
