• Founded in 2001 this is a collaboration between René Barbier Jr. of Clos Mogador and his wife Sara Pérez of Mas Martinet.

• Rene had been working in the winery at Clos Mogador since 1992 but felt compelled to start working the land itself and (in addition to the land he inherited) purchased an older site in the famed Gratallops village of Priorat

• All 4 ha of land under vine are "Costers" vineyards, meaning there are no formal terraces but the vines are still planted around extremely steep hillsides. These vineyard sites have never been exposed to chemical treatments and continue to be farmed organically

• These wines from Sara Perez and Rene Barbier are a new and welcome evolution in Priorat. Grounded deeply in the history and terroir of the region but are decidedly savory and lifted... and allow Sara and Rene to experiment with new ideas without being bound to past decisions or familial pressures.

• “When Sara Perez and Rene Barbier married, they created a dynasty. Offspring of two of the Priorat Five (the five young winemakers who, in the 90s - saved Priorat from complete desolation and pushed it to glory), they cut their teeth in the family wineries of Mas Martinet and Clos Mogador, and both producers remain firmly in the top tier of this Catalan DOC. Sara I Rene participate in several projects together as well as now running the family legacies. Bellvisos was started by Rene when he bought the abandoned 90 year old vineyard and started the rejuvenation process. Now in its tenth vintage, it is producing fascinating wines.” - Nacho
