About Sacabeira
While working in vineyards in La Rioja, Iria Otero Mazoy decided to return to her native Galicia in 2015 to pursue a doctorate in enology based on her research on the Albarino grape. Sacabeira 2018, made with grapes from the "Val do Salnes" region of Galicia, was her first taste of the region.
As a result of the wide selection of grapes and soil types in Ribeiro, she decided to set up shop there in 2017. She revives the practice of aging wine on its lees for a year in order to prevent malolactic fermentation. She referred to this rich white wine as "the German style."
