Vite Sparse
About Vite Sparse
Vite Sparse, an Italian social and itinerant winemaking initiative established in 2019 by cofounders Federico and Pietro, aims to produce wine across various regions of Italy. Their primary objective is to foster a network connecting farmers, winemakers, and local economies.
Operating without their own vineyards, Vite Sparse meticulously identifies small-scale farming operations known for their environmentally conscious agricultural practices. By collaborating with these farmers, the initiative seeks to establish fair grape prices, ensuring a genuine appreciation of the raw materials and discouraging exploitation.
Pietro and Federico oversee grape collection and the entire winemaking process, utilizing rented spaces in the region's "natural" cellars. Embracing a non-invasive production approach centered on spontaneous fermentation and authentic vinification, they strive to capture the essence of each landscape, vintage, and raw material.
Under the brand name Vite Sparse, their Italian wines are a culmination of diverse collaborations, locations, and grape varieties united by a shared ethos. The project's core principles include revitalizing abandoned vineyards, supporting agricultural micro-realities, fostering local networks, promoting socio-economic development in neglected areas, collaborating with small producers, and crafting genuine traditional and experimental wines for wider appreciation.
