Alepa Fuoridiricco NV

Pallagrello Bianco is a beloved grape variety, thought to have its origins in Campania, Italy, or possibly ancient Greece. Phylloxera and mildew nearly killed the grape, but it was rediscovered in the 1990s and has since been re-grown by some wine producers. In the 18th century, when the royal house of Bourbon ruled Naples and Sicily, Pallagrello Bianco became a favorite of King Ferdinand IV. Fuoridiriccio is a no vintage version. A complex orange wine that shows bruised apple, racy acidity, lemon peel, citrus and honey. Its unique winemaking has resulted in some sherry-like aromas of mixed nuts, dried fruit, texture palate and golden hue.

Climate:Short winter with most of the rain between December and March. Early spring with a long summer that can reach up to 35 C.
Harvest Technique:Organic and Biodynamic practices. Green manuring is practiced in the vineyard. Cover crop is mantained almost all year long. The grapes for the Palagrello Riccio Bianco come from the hills around Caiazzo at an altitude of 250 meters. They are harvested manually at the end of September
