The Mataro (a.k.a. Mourvèdre) undergoes spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel at cool temperatures and finishes in the barrel. We cultivate the vines in weathered, pink, gravelly alluvium with shallow and fertile soils. The vineyard is nestled outside Woodland (Yolo County; Dunnigan Hills AVA). It is of moderate elevation and keeps warm during the day. The vineyard is now certified organic.
