País Verde - 2020

From a 200-year-old vineyard on the southern bank of the Biobío River and planted on basalt soils, this País has all the characteristics of the variety when grown on that land in southern Chile. The cool climate imposes herbal and floral aromas as well as subtle hints of tart red fruits. The palate has the variety's characteristic texture, whilst the tannins remain rustic in the way they stick to the palate, with fresh and juicy flavors in a wine designed for chorizo sausage. This wine was fermented in troughs with the native yeasts from the vineyard and then aged in a combination of stainless and concrete tanks.
