Passorosso DOC Etna Rosso 2019

A snapshot of Mt. Etna’s diverse terroirs, this wine brings together Nerello Mascalese from vineyards at different altitudes on the active volcano’s northern face. It draws out the distinct aspects of each site, from the highest districts’ gravelly soils to the older lava flows below. It’s a silky, cool-toned combination that intertwines juicy acidity and inner sweetness on a fruit-forward palate, leaving round tannins that deliver a classically dry feel. Roses and cherries galore waft up from the 2019 Passorosso with ease. This is silky-smooth and cool-toned in feel, mixing juicy acidity with a pleasant inner sweetness that creates a seductively vibrant yet fruit-forward expression. The 2019 cleans up beautifully, leaving a coating of round tannins that create a classically dry feel, as hints of spiced citrus and hard red candies slowly fade.
