Viognier 2021
Illahe’s estate vineyard is a relatively warm site in the Mount Pisgah area of the Willamette Valley. Founded by Lowell and Pauline Ford in 2001 with an original planting of 22 acres of Pinot Noir, and they were later joined by their son in 2004, Brad Ford, who is now head winemaker. The fruit for this Viognier is sourced in the Willamette Valley and is typically a little less ripe, resulting in a higher acidity and lower alcohol than can be expected from viognier from a warmer climate. Aromas of lilac, honeydew melon, sweet pea, clover, and, of course, white peach dance in the glass. On the mouth, the tiniest hint of sweetness
mingles with pumice, poppin’ acidity and clean finish. If
