Pinot Noir Russian River Valley - 2019

Deep purple in color, the nose reveals concentrated aromas of black plum, dark forest fruits, and graphite. The palate is opulent, featuring a broad, silky texture and soft, chalky tannins. Flavors of cedar, blackberry confit, and a hint of black olive culminate in a lengthy finish.

  • Country:United States
  • Climate:The year began with a wet winter and spring, providing essential moisture for the vines. Unusually mild summer temperatures prevailed, avoiding the typical heat waves of mid-July and August, which allowed for a gradual and even ripening of grapes.
  • Fermentation:The grapes were de-stemmed and crushed, then transferred by gravity to stainless steel fermentation tanks. After a cold soak, the winemaker allowed the must to ferment with indigenous yeast. Post-fermentation, the new wine remained on the grape skins for an extended maceration to develop mouthfeel and structure. The winemaking team pressed the wine off 31 days after it entered the tank. They left the malolactic fermentation to complete indigenously.
  • Elevage:The wine features 66% new oak sourced from the center of France. A blend of Medium and Medium plus toasted oak from both Saury and Taransaud cooperages has been utilized.
  • Winemaker Name:Daniel Fitzgerald
