Condrieu "Le Tinal" - 2021

The Jean-Michel Stephan estate marks here a Condrieu from the eponymous locality (Le Tinal) within the commune of Verin; they are a cutting-edge family property in the northern Rhône Valley, known for their healthy cultivation methods and very natural winemaking procedures that eradicate sulphur. This is 100% Viognier, as required by the appellation's regulations, and comes primarily from very old vines. The latter have been urged to develop by organically extracting nutrients from biotite granite soils. They receive optimal sunlight from the south and southeast, and their hand-harvested, regulated yields are a result. The fermentation process begins with the yeasts in the cellar, and the wine is matured in oak barrels. After that, the wine is bottled without being filtered or fined. When tasted, the wine's golden hue and bouquet of apricot, violet, honey, and pineapple usher in a rich, full texture.
