About Pisoni Cellars

Pisoni Vineyards is a family-run winery based in the Santa Lucia Highlands of California. The vineyard was founded in 1982 by Gary Pisoni, who was one of the pioneers in the area to start planting vines. The family has over 30 years of experience in the industry and is dedicated to crafting exceptional wines, particularly renowned for their sought-after Pinot Noirs.

It was not until 1998 that they began to produce their first commercial bottling, the Pisoni Estate Pinot Noir, which has since been consistently rated as one of the finest Pinot Noirs in California. The vineyard has gained a reputation as one of California's top wine producers, with its grapes being highly coveted in the industry. Gary's two sons, Mark (vineyard manager) and Jeff (winemaker), are now in charge of day-to-day operations at the winery, which counts among California’s premier producers.

The family cultivates Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Syrah in three vineyards within the Santa Lucia Highlands AVA: Pisoni, Garys’, and Soberanes. They sell their exceptional fruit to other pre-eminent Californian wine estates and produce only one Pisoni Estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay respectively every year. The vineyard is a true embodiment of quality, tradition, and a deep love for winemaking.
