Clos des Grives is the Combier family‘s historic plot. A 9 hectares “clos” planted in 1952. It is now a true benchmark among the great wines of the Northern Rhône. It embodies the precision, patience, and expertise of the Combier family. Like a masterpiece of haute couture, it is crafted by expert hands, with every detail carefully mastered, from the vineyard to the cellar. Thanks to an additional year of bottle aging, this wine reveals remarkable depth, refined structure, and a graceful texture. Generous in its youth, with notes of black fruits, spices, and subtle flowers, it evolves over time into a silky, taffeta-like expression, unfolding its elegance over decades. The color is red and deep, The nose is fruity and floral, with aromas of red fruits, blackcurrant, black cherry, and pepper. The Palate is tasty and velvety, slightly tannic. With its depth and elegance, Le Clos des Grives pairs perfectly with refined and flavorful gourmet dishes. It would pair wonderfully with venison or duck breast, as well as classic stews like lamb shank. For a more delicate pairing, try it with truffled pigeon, roast quail, or filet mignon with mushrooms
