The history of winemaking in Juliénas dates back over two thousand years. The town of Juliénas gets its namesake from the Roman emperor. The vineyard holdings at Domaine de la Combe vineuse are located in a variety of diverse terroirs, including Mont Rouge, Le tour, Le Plat, En Broussaud, La Garenne, La fargette, and En Besset.
