ABOUT THIS BOTTLE
Pour l'Histoire is a tribute to the family's past and present generations, a collection that highlights a significant milestone of the winery each year. Since 2022, that milestone has been a flock of Ouessant sheep helping tend the vineyard through eco-grazing, a project close to the family's heart for the biodiversity it encourages, the ease it brings to spring soil management, and the natural fertilizer it provides the vines.
Made from 100% Melon B grown on 45 year old vines, this cuvée is a selection of the estate's best terroirs, chosen through a blind tasting by family members. The vineyard is farmed with short Guyot Simple pruning, ploughed soils, and no synthetic products used. After several sunny vintages, 2024 marked a return to freshness, an unpredictable, particularly rainy spring and summer produced wines that are fresh and balanced despite historically low yields. Fermented and aged in underground concrete tanks covered with glass tiles, typical of the Nantes vineyard, the wine is nourished on its lees for 11 months with no racking until bottling. At 12% alcohol, it's best served at 9 to 11°C and has a potential ageing window of 5 years. It pairs well with pink shrimp, salmon rolls with goat cheese, or grilled sea bream.
