ABOUT THIS BOTTLE
Weingut UNTERLIND was founded in 2019 by the visionary duo Heiner Bollig and Veronika Bollig-Lintner. Heiner, who has served as the head winemaker at Egon Müller for over a decade, brings a fresh and innovative perspective to the wines of this iconic region. He and Veronika are dedicated to producing exceptional Rieslings that capture the distinctive essence of the Mosel Valley. Embracing a minimalist philosophy, they aim to craft wines that reflect the true character of the region. With their fresh energy and modern perspective, they have quickly garnered attention from wine enthusiasts. Their 2023 Brauneberger Juffer Kabinett is sourced from two parcels in the westernmost part of the vineyards, one of 60-year old vines and one replanted ten years ago. The soils are classic grey and blue slate. The finished wine reflects the relative warmth of the site. This is a lovely accessible Kabinett, with more mid-palate weight underneath the ripe stone fruit and tropical notes. There is plenty of finesse here and the minerality is well-exposed.
