About Alex & Ben

Alex and Ben both hail from the Languedoc, but their paths into wine took them far before bringing them back home. Five years ago, after plenty of conversations, shared bottles, and a growing sense of purpose, they launched their négociant project together.

Alex spent several years in London working as a sommelier and distributor, where he built close relationships with natural winemakers from around the world. Those encounters left a lasting impression. He returned to his native Languedoc with a clear mission: to champion natural wines in a region long shaped by high-volume, standardized production. Over time, he became one of the early advocates in distribution, pushing to introduce more expressive and vibrant wines into restaurants and wine shops.

Ben’s journey was grounded in the vineyards. He worked hands-on in estates across the Languedoc, the Rhône Valley, and even Australia. Along the way, he developed a firm belief that wine should remain free, alive, and above all, a source of pleasure. That perspective guided him toward a more sustainable and mindful approach; one that respects both the land and those who cultivate it.

Their shared vision took shape organically. The idea was simple: collaborate with grower friends farming distinctive terroirs across the Languedoc to craft natural wines that are honest, vibrant, and accessible. The style leans toward freshness and drinkability, wines that are light on their feet but full of life.

Based near Montpellier, they source grapes from carefully chosen sites across the Hérault and Gard county. In the cellar, the approach is as hands-off as possible: spontaneous fermentations, no additives, and only a minimal touch of SO₂ at bottling to ensure clarity and precision.
