Domaine Chatelain

The de Oliveira family, originally from Portugal, settled in Chablis before World War II. Monsieur de Oliveira established their family domaine in 1955 as part of a larger agricultural enterprise, starting with less than one hectare of Chablis vines. Within a decade, they expanded their vineyard holdings to seven hectares and shifted their focus solely to viticulture. Today, the Chatelain estate, under the guidance of the 12th generation, boasts 30 hectares of vineyards in the Pouilly-Fumé AOC, covering six of the seven towns in the appellation: Tracy-sur-Loire, Pouilly-sur-Loire, Mesves-sur-Loire, Saint-Andelain, Saint-Laurent-l'Abbaye, and Saint-Martin-sur-Nohain. The Chatelain domaine's wines reflect the expertise of the winemaker and the family's longstanding passion for winemaking. They have since constructed a new winery, modernized their equipment, and planted additional vines. Their consistent efforts have grown the estate to over 40 hectares, including 30 hectares of Chablis and select parcels of Chablis 1er Cru and Grand Cru. The vineyards are cultivated using lutte raisonnée principles, and the wines, fermented and aged in stainless steel, are celebrated for their exceptional purity.
