About Enlightenment

Enlightenment Wines Meadery is located in the artist community of Bushwick, Brooklyn, and is known as New York City's first meadery. The meadery creates meads from spontaneous fermentation and ages them for up to a year. It is known for its small-batch meads made with wild yeast, foraged herbs, and locally sourced fruit, which are dry (not sweet), around 12% alcohol, and barrel-fermented. They have two production locations, one on a family farmstead in the Hudson Valley and the other in Bushwick Brooklyn.
