About François Ducrot

Maison Francois Ducrot, established by trained oenologist and wine merchant Francois Ducrot, is deeply committed to organic and sustainable practices in both viticulture and winemaking. Located in Lansargues (Hérault), Francois works closely with local grape growers who share his dedication to environmentally friendly agriculture. He vinifies and ages the wines in his cellar in Lansargues, adhering to organic farming specifications and utilizing minimal doses of SO2, allowing him to create wines without sulfites. Francois Ducrot, born and raised in Burgundy, is a talented winemaker with a passion for sustainability. After graduating from the Institut de la Vigne et du Vin in Dijon in 2006, he began working as Maitre de Chai (master of the cellar) for Domaine Enclos de la Croix, in Lansargues. Under his guidance, the domaine, which had practiced organic farming since the early '80s, obtained official organic certification in 2011.

Francois also modified the winemaking process to eliminate the use of animal-based products and minimize the addition of sulfites. These practices form the foundation of Maison Francois Ducrot's philosophy, resulting in organic, vegan, and low-sulfite wines that showcase the varietals and terroir while also highlighting the beauty of nature in the hands of a skilled artisan winemaker. The estate, which Francois manages with his daughter Agathe, consists of twenty-three hectares of single-vineyard blocks divided into eight parcels. Their shared vision is to create wines from cleaner soils that promote harmony among trees, wildlife, grapevines, and families.
