About Podere Lecci e Brocchi
Since her father Vasco gave the farm to Sabrina Lastrucci in 2011, she has been in charge of Podere Lecci e Brocchi. Vasco had previously sold the Chianti Classico fruit from the farm he bought from the parish priest in 1970 on the edge of Villa a Sesta. Throughout his life as an avid hobbyist, he also accumulated a full cellar of winemaking materials and equipment.
Sabrina employs the same tried-and-true winemaking methods as her father, but she is currently working toward an official organic certification. Wheat was the main crop grown there, but Sabrina’s father thought that vines would do well in the red, stony, and mineral-rich soil; After about five years, he planted the first vineyard and vinified the grapes, producing a fragrant, fruity, and unique wine. He was encouraged by these outcomes, and the other vineyard plots followed suit.
Until 2010, the Chianti Classico product was sold in bulk to some of the region's most prestigious producers. Sabrina took over management of the farm after the 2011 harvest, and started this beautiful adventure with her husband Giancarlo and still-young son Giovanni. They took charge of the company with great courage and decided not to sell any more wine in tanks, aided by her mother and father.
