About Primo Aperitivo

Primo Aperitivo is made in Mexico City by master distiller Andrés Valverde.

The aperitif was born from a simple idea: to slow down and share a moment with the people who matter, a drink built around the first pour of the evening rather than the last. That instinct grew into a broader appreciation for Mexico's agricultural diversity and visual identity, from the color found across Mexico City to the deep blue of the Frida Kahlo house, both of which shaped the aesthetic behind the brand.

The maceration draws on a wide botanical base: grapefruit and orange, hibiscus, cardamom, cinnamon, Castile rose, rosemary, spearmint, guajillo chili, cocoa beans, star anise, allspice, lemon verbena, orange blossom, turmeric, Earl Grey, rhubarb, gentian root, agave nectar, and colored with purple sweet potato and cochineal. The result is layered and distinctly Mexican, built from ingredients grown in the country's endemic regions rather than imported concentrates.

Sourcing is central to how Primo works. The team partners with cooperatives and independent producers who share their approach, and that same principle extends to production: the bottles, labels, and caps are all made in Mexico, keeping the entire process within the community it was built to celebrate.
