• Family Winery– Founded in 1964 by Santiago Ijalba (Sant-Alba), these days the winery is run by his son Roberto and his daughter Laura.

• Classic Rioja with a twist – Santaba produces the classic Rioja range of Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva. Also, they recently released “Que Vida” a more updated line of four natural wines, including an Orange Wine made from Viura.

• Location– The winery is located just outside Haro. They have all the vineyards (most of them certified Organic) in the Rioja Alta, from Sierra Cantabria in the north, to Sierra de la Demanda in the south.

About Santalba

The name Santalba is a combination of the owner and founder's first and surname: Santiago Ijalba. Santiago Ijalba chose to create his own personal initiative, Bodegas Santalba, based on his knowledge in the formulation and nurturing of exceptional Rioja wines since 1964. Since then, the Bodega has kept an unmistakably identifiable character, with the help of her children, Roberto and Laura Ijalba Pérez, who mixes the family's wine legacy with an international wine education.
