Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
California , United States
| Type: | Still Red Wine |
| Varietals: | 91% Cabernet Sauvignon | 9% Petit Verdot |
| Region: | California , Napa Valley |
| Climate: | As the winter rains had arrived early and stopped early, and soils were already quite dry when the vines began growing in the spring. We responded with early irrigation and the vines thrived throughout a very mild summer. The warm sunny days and cool evenings, reflecting our unique location in the Oak Knoll District of the Napa Valley, were perfect for ripening the grapes. The weather took a turn in September, with a significant heat spell followed by early rains, keeping us on our toes. We are delighted with the character of this vintage, which features the classic Trefethen brightness on the palate. |

ABOUT THIS BOTTLE
Cabernet Sauvignon has defined Trefethen's estate since it was first planted in 1968, with the winery's first vintage released in 1974. The variety's history in this soil runs even deeper: Cabernet from the historic Eshcol Ranch took first place at the 1889 World's Fair, helping establish Napa Valley as a world class Cabernet region. For more than 50 years, Trefethen has crafted Cabernet in that same intentional style, balanced, elegant, age worthy, and expressive of place rather than power.
Aromas of California bay leaf, dark plum, and cherry mingle with subtle hints of molasses and clove. On the palate, bright acidity brings energy to notes of raspberry and plum skin, supported by moderate tannins and a lively, balanced finish.
