| Soil: | Asili’s soils consist of calcareous–clay marls with sandy components, part of the Sant’Agata Fossili formation, producing Barbarescos of finesse, silky tannins, and long aging potential. |
| Climate: | The Asili cru in Barbaresco enjoys a temperate continental climate: warm, sunny days and cool nights promote slow, balanced ripening, while steady breezes keep the vines healthy. This microclimate enhances aromatic finesse, silky tannins, and long aging capacity, making Asili one of the most elegant and refined crus in the appellation. |
| Fermentation: | The wine spends about 40 days in cement tanks: during the first 8 days it undergoes frequent rackings to encourage strong extraction, while the following weeks allow a gentler maceration to draw out fine tannins essential for development and aging. |
| Winemaker: | Roberto Lorenzo Minuto |
| Elevage: | It then carries out malolactic fermentation and matures in 30 hl Slavonian Stockinger oak casks for 18 months, gaining structure, elegance, and the classic austerity of Nebbiolo. After that it spends 6 months in btls. |
| Vintage Notes: | Asili 2020 retained its hallmark finesse despite the warm vintage, thanks to its ventilated exposure. Acidity is moderate but well-preserved, supporting bright aromatics and refined tannins. The wines are elegant, harmonious, and precise, with medium weight and excellent balance. |

ABOUT THIS BOTTLE
This celebrated Barbaresco cru is renowned for its refinement, a quality that Luisin’s “Asili” expresses with remarkable clarity. While it shares kinship with “Rabajà,” Asili shows a more graceful, majestic profile, its structure is certainly present, yet it serves as a natural framework rather than the focal point. The wine instead highlights a lifted elegance, driven by vivid red fruit.
Cascina Luisin’s Barbaresco Asili typically shows refined red fruit aromas of cherry and raspberry, lifted by floral notes of rose and violet. On the palate it combines graceful structure with silky tannins, offering depth without heaviness. Hints of spice, tobacco, and mineral undertones add complexity. The finish is long, elegant, and marked by the finesse that defines the Asili cru.
