'Dragon's tooth' Red Blend Napa Valley
California , United States
| Type: | Still Red Wine |
| Varietals: | 46% Malbec | 28% Petit Verdot | 26% Cabernet Sauvignon |
| Region: | California , Napa Valley |
| Climate: | As the winter rains had arrived early and stopped early, and soils were already quite dry when the vines began growing in the spring. We responded with early irrigation and the vines thrived throughout a very mild summer. The warm sunny days and cool evenings, reflecting our unique location in the Oak Knoll District of the Napa Valley, were perfect for ripening the grapes. The weather took a turn in September, with a significant heat spell followed by early rains, keeping us on our toes. We are delighted with the character of this vintage, which features the classic Trefethen brightness on the palate. |

ABOUT THIS BOTTLE
Grown entirely on Trefethen's Main Ranch, the family's estate vineyard in the heart of the Oak Knoll District, this bold red blend reflects the site's signature warm days and cool evenings, ideal conditions for slow, even ripening. The 2021 growing season brought an early, dry start that called for careful early irrigation, followed by a mild summer and a late-season heat spell before harvest. The result is a wine with real character and the bright, lively acidity Trefethen is known for.
