About Domaine Joseph Cattin
Domaine Joseph Cattin, a family-owned winery with a rich history, was established in 1850 in the heart of Alsace, France. Currently managed by Jacques and Jean-Marie Cattin, alongside the latest generation represented by Jacques Jr., the estate has earned a reputation for exceptional wines, particularly Riesling, Gewürztraminer, and Pinot Gris.
The domaine spans over 65 hectares of vineyards, which include a diverse range of terroirs and some of Alsace's most renowned Grand Cru vineyards. Sustainable viticulture practices have been implemented under the Cattins' leadership, garnering recognition and acclaim from wine enthusiasts worldwide. The estate encompasses two separate wineries, one dedicated solely to the production of their remarkable Crémant wines.
The vineyards, planted with traditional Alsatian varietals, are situated in the prestigious Upper Rhine region, with diverse soils and altitudes ranging from 200 to 400 meters. Among their vineyards, the Clos Madelon holds a special place due to its unique red ferruginous soil and history as a battle site during WWI. Domaine Joseph Cattin's commitment to quality and preservation of the Alsatian winemaking heritage ensures their continued success and recognition in the global wine community.
