The Pursuit of Bella
Jalisco, Mexico
The Pursuit of Bella draws on eight generations of family distilling in Jalisco. Founded by Guillermo Romo R., whose family previously owned and operated Tequila Herradura, the house takes its name from Doña Gabriela “Bella” de la Peña, one of the first women to lead a tequila house in Mexico.
This legacy continued through Guillermo’s father, Guillermo Romo de la Peña, who helped secure tequila’s Denomination of Origin in 1974 and is credited with introducing the first reposado. Today, he serves as Master Distiller Emeritus alongside Master Distiller Maria Teresa Lara, a chemical engineer with more than three decades of experience at Herradura.
The Library Collection spans Blanco, the lightly barrel-kissed Blanco Suave, Reposado, and Extra Añejo, alongside limited releases. Its rarest expression, the Pipon Edition, is offered by invitation only, with just ten bottles released each year.
