ABOUT THIS BOTTLE
Cascina Luisin’s Barbaresco Basarin is a refined expression of Nebbiolo from one of the most historic and celebrated crus of Neive. The Basarin vineyard, located on the border between Neive and Treiso, enjoys a privileged south and southwest exposure at higher elevations. Cascina Luisin’s Barbaresco Basarin stands out for its combination of aromatic delicacy and structural precision, making it a wine of remarkable personality and aging potential. Long fermentations enhance the natural tannic backbone of Nebbiolo, while aging in large Slavonian oak casks preserves purity of fruit and transparency of terroir. This artisanal approach ensures that Basarin reflects its origin with precision and authenticity.
In the glass, Barbaresco Basarin reveals a brilliant garnet color and an aromatic profile marked by red cherries, wild strawberries, and hints of pomegranate, layered with floral notes of rose and violet and subtle touches of sweet spice and underbrush. On the palate, it shows a graceful balance between freshness and structure: tannins are firm yet finely woven, while a vibrant acidity lends tension and lift. The finish is long, savory, and mineral driven.
