ABOUT THIS BOTTLE
Alexandrine Roy represents the fourth generation of her family to farm in Gevrey-Chambertin, tending just four hectares in the heart of the Côte de Nuits with meticulous care. White Burgundy from this corner of the Côte de Nuits is rare, and Les Champs Perdrix is a genuinely unusual site. Perched on a steep hillside at the southern end of the Marsannay appellation, the parcel is stony and thin-soiled, with a rock base that keeps yields naturally low and concentration naturally high. The forest edge brings cooler nights that hold acidity in the fruit, a particular advantage in warm vintages, and Alexandrine waits until after the reds are picked before harvesting here, giving the Chardonnay the extra time it needs to reach full aromatic maturity.
Fresh, precise and mineral on the palate, with a balance and energy that sets it apart from richer, more opulent styles of white
Burgundy
