San Bartolo
Oaxaca, Mexico
San Bartolo Mezcal Artesanal is rooted in the San Bartolo Yautepec valley of Oaxaca’s Sierra Sur, where four generations of the Martínez López family have preserved the craft of mezcal production. Conceived by Mexican immigrants in New York City and brought to life in their home community, the brand connects their local traditions with the world.
Maestro mezcalero Valentín Martínez López and his grandson have sought to create a mezcal that would represent the character of Yautepec and honor their family’s heritage.
Guided by tradition, quality, culture, and honesty, San Bartolo places its origins and the people behind its production at the center of its story. Its commitment to sustainable production reflects a desire to carry this heritage forward while respecting the community from which it comes.
San Bartolo celebrates mezcal as a living tradition: an expression of family, community, and the enduring spirit of Oaxaca.
